How it works in three steps

  1. Match the wipe to what you clean

    One Wipex fitness wipe can cover gym equipment, yoga mats and Pilates reformers in the same space, subject to product and surface compatibility. Other Wipex wipes are made for skin after a workout, tables and counters, floors, screens and cars. If in doubt, test on a small, inconspicuous area first.

  2. Put a station in every zone

    A canister for personal use, a 400ct bucket for desks and studio doors, a 700ct bulk roll in a wall or floor dispenser for high-traffic floors. Use the space map to see where.

  3. Pull, wipe, refill

    Pull one wipe at a time from the dispenser or bucket. When it runs out, drop in a refill.

Cleaning vs. disinfecting

Cleaning removes dirt, sweat, body oil and grime from a surface. Disinfecting is a regulated claim about killing the germs listed on a product's label, and in the U.S. any product that makes it must be registered with the EPA.

Wipex's disinfecting product is the EPA-Registered Disinfecting Wipes Roll (EPA Reg. No. 1839-190-99255), for hard, non-porous surfaces, when used as directed on the label. Other Wipex wipes are cleaning wipes. Check each product page and label to see what it is made for.

Plant-based viscose cloth

Wipes made with plant-based cloth use 100% plant-based viscose cloth fibers from renewable resources. "Plant-based" describes the cloth, not the formula. Not every Wipex product carries this, so check each product page and label.

The cloth fibers used in these products are TÜV Austria-certified (OK COMPOST HOME and OK COMPOST INDUSTRIAL). This certification applies to the cloth substrate only, not to the finished wipe, its formula or its packaging. Please check local solid waste regulations regarding disposal. Non-compostable in California, as per state-specific regulations.

Meltblown cloth

Some Wipex wipes use a premium meltblown cloth: a nonwoven fabric made from very fine fibers, which gives a soft, absorbent wipe. We make no plant-based or sustainability claims for meltblown cloth. Check each product page to see which cloth it uses.

Hypoallergenic

Some Wipex formulas have gone through voluntary human repeat insult patch testing (HRIPT), a dermatological test on volunteers' skin. Products made with those formulas may say "hypoallergenic", "dermatologically tested" and "safe on sensitive skin", and nothing broader. Not every Wipex product carries this, so check each product page and label.

Lab-tested

On a Wipex page, "lab-tested" refers to two kinds of testing: cleaning-performance testing by TURI at UMass Lowell, which measured sweat and body oil removal on vinyl, rubber, coated yoga mats and stainless steel, and a 21-day material soak test by an independent laboratory on vinyl upholstery, rubber flooring and coated yoga mats. Results apply only to the formulations that were tested. Not every Wipex product carries this, so check each product page and label.

What is Wipex?

Wipex Co. has been making wipes since 2000. We are a multi-generational, family-owned company based in South Florida and operating in the United States. We make pre-moistened wipes for gyms, yoga and Pilates studios, food service, facilities, trades, home and car, plus the buckets, refill rolls and dispensers that go with them.

Are Wipex fitness wipes disinfectant wipes?

No. Our fitness and studio wipes are cleaning wipes made to cut through sweat, body oil and grime on equipment and mats. If your facility needs EPA-registered disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces, use the Wipex EPA-Registered Disinfecting Wipes Roll (EPA Reg. No. 1839-190-99255) and follow the label directions.

Which Wipex wipes are hypoallergenic?

Hypoallergenic applies to our Lavender and Lemongrass & Eucalyptus fitness wipes (75ct canisters, 400ct buckets and 700ct bulk rolls), EMPOWER Yoga Mat Wipes and EMBODY Body Wipes. It is not a claim we make for every Wipex product, so check the product page before you buy.

Can I use Wipex fitness wipes on my gym equipment?

They are made for it. The Lavender and Lemongrass & Eucalyptus fitness formulations are lab-verified for material compatibility with vinyl, rubber and coated yoga mats. If in doubt, test on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Are Wipex wipes compostable?

Wipex does not claim that any finished wipe is compostable. The cloth fibers used in our plant-based viscose wipes are TÜV Austria-certified (OK COMPOST HOME and OK COMPOST INDUSTRIAL). This certification applies to the cloth substrate only, not to the finished wipe, its formula or its packaging. Please check local solid waste regulations regarding disposal. Non-compostable in California, as per state-specific regulations. Do not flush wipes.

Do Wipex buckets and refill rolls fit Wipex dispensers?

Yes. Wipex 400ct buckets and refill rolls fit the Wipex Wall Dispenser and Floor Dispenser. Refills are a more eco-friendly packaging option because they use less material.

Which Wipex wipes are made for restaurants and food service?

Table Bussers Surface Wipes. They use a proprietary formulation designed for tables, counters and food-service surfaces, and they are suitable for food service environments.

Are Wipex alcohol wipes registered disinfectants?

No. Wipex Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes (70% or 96% isopropyl alcohol) are cleaning wipes and are not EPA or FDA registered. For registered disinfection, use the Wipex EPA-Registered Disinfecting Wipes Roll as directed on its label.

What is the difference between a canister, a bucket and a bulk roll?

Pouches, canisters and boxes (24ct to 100ct) are for personal use and small spaces. Buckets (225ct to 1000ct) suit zones, front desks, studio entrances and job sites. Bulk refill rolls (350ct to 800ct) are for high-traffic floors and load into a Wipex wall, floor or XL bucket dispenser. Floor pads come in 12ct and 16ct packs.

Does Wipex offer free shipping?

Can I use Wipex wipes on a Pilates reformer?

Many reformers use vinyl upholstery. Our Lavender and Lemongrass & Eucalyptus fitness formulations are lab-verified for material compatibility with vinyl, rubber and coated yoga mats. Check your reformer maker's care guide, and if in doubt, test on a small, inconspicuous area first.

What are Wipex DIY wipes?

DIY wipes are dry wipes in kits and refill rolls that you saturate with your own cleaning solution. They use plant-based cloth. Follow the instructions of the cleaning solution you choose.
